What some readers say :

This book details the journey of Barbadians who imprinted Canadian identity with a distinct island flavour that has gained respect, and are here celebrated. This is a very special work of living memory that signals dimensions of a missionary mentality found in many immigrants. In these stories of Barbadian pioneers, can be found the footprints of Canada, a nation on the move. I commend it for the widest possible readership.”

Sir Hilary Beckles
(Historian, Principal, University of the West Indies, Cave Hill, Barbados)

“I can recommend this document to all and sundry, not only because of the painstaking replication of important details about persons whose stories have to be told, but also because of what the lives in aggregate tell us about our wonderful little country and its donation of social and human capital
to making the world a better place.”

Hon. Robert “Bobby” Morris, CHB
(Historian, Deputy General Secretary, Barbados Workers’ Union)

“This excellent slice of scholarship will be a useful resource and will also be enlightening for general readers who seek to know more about the important nexus between Barbados and Canada. The depth of its research and the care in its presentation represents a highly laudable achievement.”

Dr. Trevor Carmichael
(Author, Attorney-at-law, Barbados)
